Well, it took you long enough. After nearly eight years, you’re finally doing it. You know how badly you’ve wanted to start up a blog but for whatever reason you kept letting improbable aspirations divert your attention. Some of which you sure did give your darndest efforts but unforeseen circumstances held you back from the gates. Something that seems to be a theme in your life but never have you ever used that as an excuse. But nevertheless here you are. Eastern Washington University graduating class of 2023, Summa cum Laude?! Who would have thought? I mean besides you. Maybe a couple of teachers, but beyond that, remember all the people who seemingly counted you out as a mere child? Because I do. And here we are, living out our revenge peacefully accomplishing the goals we set out for when we were a broken 11-year old, crying in the shower because we felt like nobody had our best interests in mind. But we always did.
I remember back during the COVID-19 Lockdown how much you had on your mind and you started an NBA podcast that lasted ten episodes, a group YouTube channel that made it all of two videos, and it was never your efforts that were lacking. But you gave yourself a common excuse that you often played when things go wrong. And we grew to understand that you cannot expect yourself out of people. Just like you know that you cannot expect people to understand what you need without communicating that. Here we are, three years post lockdown and you have made so many positive strides.
You are in such a beautiful relationship with the most genuine person in the world and you make each other feel warm, protected, loved and safe. I’m proud of you both and hope you each keep trending upwards as you are both together and individually.
Making excuses is just as easy as giving up. The hardest roads will always be taken with making the right decisions. Go to the gym, pick up those clothes before bed, take out the trash now instead of the morning, use your indicator even if you’re alone on the road. Integrity is as vital as discipline in order to build positive habits and you are on the right track.
Love trev
